I am an Assistant Branch Manager. I manage colleagues and carry out management duties on a daily basis. I attend regular meetings to understand the customers requirements, once these have been established I work to implement a solution. I am in continuous communication with different suppliers, negotiating the best terms pricing these items. As a team we work together in branch to achieve sales targets, meet contract requirements and uphold company values and policies.
My confidence within the role has drastically improved, when I started the programme I was a Sales Adviser and mid way through the programme I was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager. It was with the newly developed skills and knowledge learnt within the apprenticeship that gave me the confidence to go into my new role. I have been in my role now for just over 1 year.
I thoroughly enjoyed the programme. I not only developed as a person but I developed close/closer relationships with colleagues and friends. My mentor became my friend and we have a close relationship after the programme.
Very well organised, the overview is given at the start of the year so if you have holiday and miss a session you can attend a catch up with a different cohort. The continuous support of peers and mentors is second to none and 9/10 they will answer your call at any time in the day.
My mentor was the main port of call for anything, she always offered advice and support when it was required. She learnt my learning style and adapted her mentoring to that. There were a couple of workshops I missed due to a change in role and the time was taken to get me caught up and back on track.
Again, the support was given where and when it was required, my mentor had a massive part to play within the programme.
I think the qualification helped massively with regards to a promotion.
There aren't really any extra-curricular activities - this should be something to consider, to get more of a family vibe.
Yes
They care about personal development and take the time to find mutual goals for the individual. The apprenticeship programme is definitely worth participating in if you are looking to develop and work your way up.
Be yourself and strive to be the best you can be.
