As an operations manager it is my job to run and oversee the day to day operations in my shop. This is managing my team and making sure all expectations expected tasks are completed and the shop runs safely and legally
Biggest skill I’ve learnt is learning how I think and how others think. This means I can use different management tech ink wire of different people depending on who they are and how I can get the best out of them.
I loved the workshops. Getting to meet other people from different backgrounds and businesses and listening how they run their shops was really useful. The workshops in general were fun but filled with lots of learnings
The workshops were perfect. However the coursework was too much. Several sections covered the same tasks and so it at times became too much of the same. However the majority of it was very useful to complete and helped me understand myself and my team a lot more
I was given mostly 1 day a week to complete coursework or attend a workshop. This gave me the time I needed to learn and complete tasks. However there were times that the store was too busy and the work had to left meaning did get behind for a while
The workshops were great and the teachers helped understand all learning very well. Although I didn’t lean on my mentor too much I knew she was always there to help if needed which was reassuring
I am a much better manager because of it. Especially on the behaviour side of leading a team. I understand myself and my team much more especially through insights. It’s made me become a more fair and consistent manager
In terms of this not particularly. However one workshop was based at silverstone was a very fun day.
Yes
The learnings I got from is something I would of struggled to get by myself. It was also very fun and enjoyable making it not feel like it was just an apprenticeship. Also the support was incredible from the teachers to the mentors to my manager.
Make sure you give it everything. Enjoy it and get involved. Don’t get behind and make sure you give yourself the time to complete all coursework
