Running a busy Plumbing and Heating Branch. Making sure team are safe whilst working at branch. Dealing with contract customers and making sure we are servicing the smaller customers who come into front counter. Helping team with their own skill sets and deleoping my team further with their careers.
Moving from Operations manager to Branch Manager has made me realise how different the 2 worlds are. My people skills have become more apparrant and the way I conduct myself has had to change. I am aware that I have to set examples daily. I have had to learn P+L very quickly. I am learning new skills almost daily
Now that my LEAP programme has finished I have missed it, the support I recieved from the LEAP team was incredible I couldnt thank them enough my mentor help me get through some dark times. The programme really opened my eyes and was able to put into practice many of the workshop programmes I attenended back at my branch.
It was very well structured
A lot my branch manager at the time made sure I had time to complete workshop tasks
This is were the programme excelled not once did I feel I was left on my own all the training team I was involved with took time to explain and make sure I had everything I needed.
Its given me confidence in my own ability. Knowing even now that if I had a sticky moment I can always pick up the phone and speak to the LEAP team.
Not at the moment with COVID 19
