Assistant Branch, An overview of my role would be: Monitoring sales and margin, leading the team, health and safety and staff welfare. Banking, customer service and liaising with suppliers.
Yes, I learnt about insights, which I found beneficial learning about myself and how to deal with others. Which made me a better leader, man manager and coach.
I found the overall experience beneficial, meeting and engaging with other colleagues from other brands of TP. Learning new management styles and skills
The programme was structured well, the only issue I had was getting time in branch to do course work and and on the job learning. I spoke with my manager at the time and my mentor and we resolved this.
My mentor was excellent, supportive and challenged me to get the best results. I had issues with getting allocated time in branch to complete learning, my branch manager was taking time away from the business and I had to cover. However I spoke with my manager and mentor later in my course and I was allocated time.
My mentor was excellent as previously stated.
I have incorporated new skills into tasks and my day to day job role.
Not at the moment during covid, previously I used to organise regular supplier or social funded night/meals out for the branch. This was good for team morale and supplier engagement.
Yes
During my time with TP I have been given learning opportunities to help me gain promotion. I feel invested in and I believe that TP provide job security and also with their emphasis on health and safety this is also a safe place to work. This is described in the cornerstones of the business. My nephew worked in our warehouse for 2 years, he enjoyed his time with BSS.
I would make them aware of MyPerks and the sharesave scheme. Also if you work hard you hard work is recognised and the company will help you develop.
