  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • 9/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The programme was excellent for improving my coaching and leadership skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme very much. It would have been better had they given clearer expectations at the beginning of the programme. It wasn't until the third module that I fully understood and was confident with what I needed to do with the coursework. Also, had we understood from the start what was expected in the end-point assessment, I could have prepared for it on a module-by-module basis.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Not very well organised at all. It is generic and geared towards branches, whereas with central functions it needs to be more carefully tailored.

    6/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support from my employer was excellent. My manager was available any time I needed guidance, and I was allotted plenty of time during my shift to complete my coursework.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The workshops were fantastic, and although my mentor was always available if I needed him, there were times that I felt at a bit of a loss as to what was expected of me.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training provided for this qualification was invaluable for helping me to perform better in my current role. I learned so much more about the company structure and functions than I would have otherwise known had I not done the apprenticeship.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No - other than a get-together at Christmas.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Travis Perkins Plc to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I find that Travis Perkins is the first company I've worked for that seems to embody the publicised company values.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Travis Perkins Plc?
  • It's important to understand the TP Values - we have to be able to work independently, but with a wider understanding of the needs of the business and the team we're working with. If you aren't a team player, then Travis Perkins is not the place for you.
