  • My day consists of helping customers with their choices of goods. Serving on the trade counter, answering phones and responding to emails. Arranging for goods to be delivered through our own fleet of transport. checking off deliveries inbound. Keeping accurate stock records and dealing with compliance issues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt about various tools that are available to assist me in my day to day role. Through various charts to help monitor progress of tasks. Taking a step back and seeing through other peoples view points.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It has helped shape me, shown me what parts are lacking in my ability to do my job role correctly and how to best to turn a weakness into a positive.

  • very well, there is much to learn and it is an ongoing course for a whole year. The way we are taught is very engaging

  • From the business there is a lot of support, but not much directly within branch due to staffing problems.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From the mentors and the team at the leap program there is a lot of support, From help with English and Maths to all aspects of the course, in helping with the development.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Helps me to understand my job role better, so that i can deliver a better service for our customers and colleagues alike.

  • None that i have come across, however there is a whattsapp group that helps to give advice

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a good company to work for. if you are willing to put in the work you will reap the rewards. There are also some good perks, staff discount and possible bonuses dependant on hitting targets.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Travis Perkins Plc?
  • Have a walk around a branch or go through their web page, they are more than just a builders merchants. Use Ilearn to further your career. Any extra courses you can do apply for.
