I run the “core” side of the store, overseeing all day-to-day processes. This encompasses everything from all aspects of goods movement to recruitment!
I have certainly developed existing skills, and also learnt new skills that have proven to be very useful! Not only did learning something new help to reignite my passion for my role, it also helped me to progress and perform at a higher level.
I enjoyed all aspects of the programme, with certain modules being more enjoyable than others (predominantly dependant upon the work that was required to be carried out, with more practical work being preferred.. but that is my own preference!)
At first I couldn’t see how the modules would tie in with each other, but after a couple of months I experienced first hand how knowledge from one module was carried over in to another to build on previous learnings. This programme structure worked really well.
I received as much help as I required, with time being put aside each work to complete different parts of my work. My mentor was also excellent, and it was a pleasure to work with her!
The training provider provided a varying degree of support, dependant upon your own needs, but with a wealth of information available via their learning portal.
Even if I had not learnt anything new (which I have), the development and progression that I was party to has resulted in my performance improving, as I am better able to carry out my role.
My work hold professional networking events, as well as holding in-house training events. These are held for a variety of colleagues at different levels, allowing everyone an opportunity to improve.
Yes
The company shows a genuine desire for colleagues to improve and progress, and provides resources and time for this to be achieved. As such, I feel they are a great company to work for!
Be honest and genuine.
