My job is very varied. Some days I will be in the lab; other days I will writing reports, and others will be filled with meetings and webinars.
I have gained so many skills since starting my apprenticeship. Everyone around me does their own unique role and the wealth of knowledge that I'm surround by on a daily basis is inspiring. One thing I love about my job, is how I never stop learning.
I am absolutely loving my apprenticeship. I knew that univeristy wasn't for me, and I'm so glad that I chose this route.
My programme is very well structured. I take my study day on a Friday which means I am able to concentrate on one thing at a time, and the workload doesn't overwhelm me.
I receive so much support from my manager, my apprentice buddy, and my team. I started my apprenticeship virtually which has made it difficult to get to know people, so just having those points of contact, and that support network, has been amazing.
I regularly have meetings with my apprenticeship advisor to check on my progress, and my module convenors are always very helpful in replying to my questions.
Some of the modules don't really apply to my role but most of them do, in some way or another. The knowledge that I gain in my study day is invaluable to my confidence and understanding of my role.
I don't know if there are any extra-curricular activities as I started my apprenticeship during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yes
Everyone at GSK is so support of my professional and personal development. I have gained so many skills and my confidence in myself and my abilities has grown massively.
Be yourself in the application process. If an apprenticeship is right for you, you will get it; if you are yourself, you can't go wrong. Do your research for your job role for the best possible chance and don't be afraid to show your passion.
