Working within the audit teams. Talking to clients, working through different aspects of the audit that were required for each client. Working within a team.
I developed many new skills whilst working on this placement as all of the knowledge was new to me, due to never working within this industry before.
I very much enjoyed my work programme. Despite it being a remote placement, the staff at PWC did everything they could to ensure that my team with the business was not only insightful but also fun.
The programme was very well structured. Being eased into it with a couple of training weeks to ensure that we had a basic knowledge of what we were doing made us more comfortable. There was also then support provided through the whole placement to us, so that we always had help when it was necessary.
There was always plenty of support whenever we needed it, we always had a chain of command we could escalate any issues up when working on a client. External to the clients we also had members of staff that were assigned to helping us.
We are assigned a tutor at the university who keeps an eye on how things are going. This means that we are kept up to date on our progress and where we are expected to be.

As the placement is all digital, it is difficult to have extra-curricular activities. Despite this, PWC made a big effort to get people involved in different activities within the business, from weekly evening socials, to morning yoga.
Yes
There is no doubt I would recommend this placement. It is a fast track to a competitive job and we are very much cared for by the business. They are highly supportive and ensure that whilst working for them, they meet our needs as much as possible.
I would advise people to apply to PWC through the flying start programme. It is a fast track to getting chartered as a accountant and means that time spent at university coincides with work directly.
