Supply Chain apprentice to be a logistics Planner. Daily tasks include monitoring orders to ensure that they are on time and in full, talking to customers to satisfy their needs and demands. Responsibilities include running a tablets packaging production line and the scheduling and problems that are associated with this.
I have been involved in lots of training courses at the start of my apprenticeship to ensure i was up to the right standard before i got to do anything. I am currently studying a level 5 diploma and an online foundation degree through my apprenticeship.
I work in an excellent team who are enthusiastic about their jobs. The company we work for has incredibly high standards and will only accept the highest quality. I really enjoy my role and wish to continue here after my apprenticeship finishes.
Every member of staff at GSK is valued, and the apprentices are no exception. I feel that everyone in my team respects me and although i am new and a lot younger than team members, i am treated as an equal.
Coming into the programme the course i initially thought i would be studying for was no longer available - therefore a fix had to be sorted out. this was done and i am now fortunate enough to be studying at a higher level to what i expected.
Incredible support throughout every task, was assigned a mentor on day one who has been supportive and has taught me everything i know.
Great support from my employer as all of my qualifications are funded through this - and i get paid to work as well. My manager has worked closely with me in order to develop me and make sure i am getting the support i require. my mentor has been incedibly supportive and taught me loads. everyone is happy to support and help me.
I get paid a very generous salary considering it's an entry level apprenticeship. Since i'm living at home i have no living costs - however i commute 20 miles every day which costs about £30 a week in fuel. (Though my salary more than covers this.) The Location in Barnard Castle is in an AONB and is a beautiful place in the world.
there are always opportunities to help the community and volunteer your time - included is an 'orange day' in which you can take a paid day's holiday in order to help the community in some way.
Yes
It's an incredibly prestigious company whose values are at the heart of everything we do. I would reccomend as it is one of the best paying and support apprenticeships you will be able to find anywhere in the country.
When applying to work at GSK - be yourself. If you're not you won't be able to hide your personality when you work there so it's best to be yourself.
