My role within Siemen’s healthineers is to wind wire to create coils on the magnets - a very important and delicate process of which I am lucky enough to be apart of. It includes many different processes that all need to be accurate to the nearest hundredths of millimetres.
During the first year I learnt many more skills than I ever thought I would, including: welding, milling, electrical installation, hand fitting, business improvement skills and social skills.
I really enjoy this apprenticeship and feel very lucky to be in this position. The company is great to work for, with many job benefits too. There is lots of potential to move up in the business which is fantastic for lots of motivation on a day to day basis.
This apprenticeship very organised and has been clearly laid out from the start, so that I know exactly what I’m doing and what I’m going to do next.
I receive good support from my employer
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider.
I think that the units and processes of the course are very useful within my role at Siemen’s, and for if I wanted to move around various departments in the future.
Yes
It is a great apprenticeship and great business to work for with many opportunities.
Don’t shy away because you don’t think you have the skills. You learn so much within the apprenticeship that ensure you can complete jobs to the best standard.
