Firstly I do online picking so my day can start anywhere from 4 am to 6am,we pick all of these, pack and put them in crates, after this has finished I then start my role as retail assistant. Where I stock shelves, help customers and do til duties, I usually finish about 2 pm.
Yes I've learnt how to use the picking gun, how to receive deliveries, product recalls.
I enjoy that I'm learning new skills and I'm taking ime out for myself to improve myself. It's very difficult at the moment with the coronvirus as our work load is tremendous, but all in all the program has enhanced my working day.
At the moment it's well organised, Ive had a few trainers since I started but seem to be enjoying my latest one the best, she seems very organised. I think the programme is well structured.
I havnt received too much support from my employer, but I think this is due to the sheer amount of pressure that anyone working in retail at the moment with covid is facing. If things where different I think I would have the support.
My trainer is very supportive and I know I can message her if need be
I think initially it gave be a great boost to make me want to progress in the company and ga e me confidence to want to learn new skills
No we don't have any extra activities
Yes
Iceland has a very family orientated feel, you get looked after as long as you put the work in and want to be there! Staff are always friendly and I thing being a relatively small business compared to the major supermarkets, Iceland has that friendly small business feel. There's also lots of opportunities to progress if u want to.
Just be prepared for hard work, team work and maybe early starts
