I machine components on different machines depending on where my placement is on shop floor e.g turning, grinding etc.
I have learnt new skills as there is a lot of learning and different process per machine. also college has helped me with learning the theory side of matreials and many other things.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as i get to integrate with many characters and get to build my knowledge.
the program is well organised on site however in college it is not as organised to begin with at the start of the year.
reviews take place in order to look at my progress and to see whether there are any problems or anything i need to talk about. there is apprentice managers, shop floor supervisors and managers as well as skilled men and NVQ assessors for support.
college make sure you can contact them via email if there is any queries and you can ask questions during lesson time. however due to there being only online lessons this has become more difficult
it helped with practicing basic machining also theory has helped with material processes such as heat treatment, hardness testing etc
AWASA is a committee for apprentices, charity work and other activities can be done through this.
