  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a duty manager which means I run shifts when the store is open for trade. I work frozen and chilled stock, cash up the tills at the end of the day and close the store and set alarms. Also prepare home deliveries for the drivers

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to cash up and use the cash office, also the handheld devices to check stock levels. How to take direct and depo deliveries. Also a refresh on stock rotation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It’s nice to develop and improve and learn new skills and feel valued as part of the organisation by being on the programme.

  • It is very well structured. I have a fantastic work coach, who is helpful offers good advice which is clearly outlined.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My store manager is a great help as she is always asking how things are going and if she can be of any assistance

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get emails and clear instruction and outlines of the whole process and where I need to be or areas that could use some improvement so they have been a great help

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • So far it is early days, but it has been interesting to work through the modules and then apply this theory to real life situations

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not at the moment as COVID-19 and national lockdown has made things like this hard to do at the moment.

  • Cheap prices, good range of products, with helpful and great staff

  • To have an open mind and embrace and take on board the things being offered
