I am a duty manager which means I run shifts when the store is open for trade. I work frozen and chilled stock, cash up the tills at the end of the day and close the store and set alarms. Also prepare home deliveries for the drivers
I have learnt how to cash up and use the cash office, also the handheld devices to check stock levels. How to take direct and depo deliveries. Also a refresh on stock rotation.
It’s nice to develop and improve and learn new skills and feel valued as part of the organisation by being on the programme.
It is very well structured. I have a fantastic work coach, who is helpful offers good advice which is clearly outlined.
My store manager is a great help as she is always asking how things are going and if she can be of any assistance
I get emails and clear instruction and outlines of the whole process and where I need to be or areas that could use some improvement so they have been a great help
So far it is early days, but it has been interesting to work through the modules and then apply this theory to real life situations
Not at the moment as COVID-19 and national lockdown has made things like this hard to do at the moment.
