Monday - Thursday I have college, 3 which are on on site and one which is online. they involve doing some sort of practical activity which. this will either a practice task teaching us the base skills or part of our assessment piece. On Thursday we have our online lessons, this is where we are set homework and complete the theory side of our course.
I have learnt about laying up composite materials into moulds and how to use an autoclave, developed my practical skills within sheet metal. learnt how to crimp, solder and connect different plugs when wiring electrical systems.
I'm thoroughly enjoying my apprentice and feeling as it was the best option for after leaving school. I feel as if i'm learning new skills every lesson, however in my maths and science lessons I sometimes feel as if we are being let down as a class with the quality of teaching.
The course is very well structured and organised, we have a set timetable every week, all teachers/Leonardo staff are very quick to respond and willing to help where possible. they quickly an change planes and still provide quality teaching, and they offer a great support network when struggling with college work or personal problems.
the employer is very quick to offer support and help in any way they can. They always respond to any queries/questions and provide us with all the tools needed to learn.
The training provider is great a delivering practical lessons and supporting us with developing the needed skills. However when completing online lessons and giving us feedback, homework and practice questions they have struggled to give us the need support.
the provider is teaching me the necessary skill set I need to complete my role and job to the best ability and always helping me improve and better myself, it is allowing me to gain the needed pratical skills alongside the knowledge based theory side.
they offer multiple social clubs/groups for us to get involved in and have sport groups/teams which we can join to make new friends and improve relationships with current friends.
Yes
They offer a great job opportunity and offer great teaching allowing us to improve our skills while making new friends. Once you have the qualification and role within the company their are many opportunities within the company to gain new skills and opportunities.
