At the moment we are paid to study in college full time with one day a week onsite however due to covid this is not possible, next year we will be on site for 4 days a week carrying out tasks and learning on the job followed by a day at college to begin our level 3 aerospace course
I have learnt lots of new skills to do with electrics, sheet metal work, theory of flight and lots more
I enjoy the programme so far it is good as you learn so many new things however, you need to keep on top of the work so that you do not fall behind as there is lots to take in.
I have no faults with leonardo themselves they are a great company and a great employer to work for they look after all the apprentices so well however there have been teething issues but that comes down to the college and covid more than Leonardo themselves
My employer is great if i have any questions i can just email them and my manager will always try his best to help
Their is alot of support on offer from the provider as it is a college, if i am ever stuck i know i can turn to one of my lecturers for help
The qualifications are a necessity in the workplace in the current period as you learn everything to do with aircraft not just one specific thing which helps broaden horizons and creates more opportunities in the future
At work there are many different activities run by the apprentice team That organise social events, meetings and much more
Yes
Its a great career to have, they are a great employer and the job itself is fun
Be prepared to give your all as the more you put in the more you take out.
