I'm an undergraduate engineer who works 3 days a week and studies for a degree on the other two.
I have gained lots of engineering experience using programming, CAD etc. I have also learnt how a large engineering company works.
It is very enjoyable - the teams I have worked with are very helpful and have given me interesting projects. The degree is interesting and can compliment some of the work.
The programme had a very thorough induction which was very helpful and made settling in easier. There is lots of support, both from the Dyson staff and the Institute team.
My manager/mentor has been very helpful and always willing to help me and provide feedback on my work.
The learning from the degree can be applied in certain aspects of the job. I have also applied theory I've learnt in the job to testing during my work.
There are lots of societies you can join, as well as professional development opportunities.
Yes
The programme is very exciting as you get on the job experience whilst obtaining a degree. I have enjoyed my projects so far and like that I get to work with different teams across the business.
Show your enthusiasm for engineering and the Dyson Institute as it is a great opportunity.
