Electrical and mechanical maintenance engineer who fixes machines mechanically and electrically that have broken down, which make parts for helicopters
Yes, many new skills electrical and mechanical based as well as basic hand tool skills and knowledge
Learning throughout my whole career and knowing I have a big role in a huge company as well as working with great people
Very well organised, and structured with the backup of having help readily available if needed.
A lot of support from not only my area department manager but also training managers who are always available to talk too about anything
A lot of support, they have put me through a lot of courses to help me improve in the work I do with more courses planned in the future
The qualification that I am going through at college will help me to some extents but the stuff I learn doesn’t help me in the workplace. I understand knowledge about electrics but the stuff I learn at college is domestic which isn’t what I touch at all in the workplace.
There are many different extra curricular activities available to me if I wanted to participate
Yes
Having a role in such a big company yet feeling like they appreciate what your doing is rare. Feels like a big family and the opportunity’s and time they put into me is massive
Get your head down, work hard and the rewards will be worth it
