I am a teaching assistant at an SEND school and currently work as a 1 to 1 TA to help certain pupil's and their individual needs. I am tasked with assisting pupils and teachers, learning classroom based skills, implementing behaviour techniques, adapting to new skills and growing as individual to deal with different everyday situations.
I have been able to further develop skills I already had and adapt them within and school environment, skills such as patience, being understanding and communicating well have all been used to help me in my apprenticeship.
Being hands on in a classroom and working with pupils and teachers is the best thing about working on the programme. I enjoy contributing ideas and helping pupils achieve every day tasks.
From the beginning of starting my programme, everything was well-organised, informative and very helpful. We were given various information packs to help us understand what the programme will consist us, who the correct people to contact are and 24/7 support with anything we may be stuck on.
The support given to us from our employer is more than I could ask for, they are very helpful and easy to talk too whenever we need help with anything. They provide information packs to help us understand the whole duration of the course and the admin side of it and who we should contact for certain things.
The support from our training providers is very helpful and beneficial. They are with us every step of the way to help us achieve the best out of our assignments and coursework. The 1 to 1 sessions help us understand the knowledge, basics and behaviour of what we can apply in our work place and are there to answer any questions we have.
They are very consistent in making sure we are getting the best out of our programme, whether it be through virtual online meetings, workshops or phone call sessions. All of those things, really help contribute to helping us do our very best in our programme and be supported all the way.
As of now there isn't much due to COVID restrictions however there are catch up meetings to see how every is and weekly updates. We do have access to places or online sources for our well-being and mental health if ever we need to speak to someone or contact them.
Yes
Inspire ATA was everything more than I expected it to be, from their professionalism, care and support to their consistent guidance on what we can do to perform well in our work places and still balance our assignments and home studying. They really look after you and make sure your well being is put first and you are doing well throughout your apprenticeship.
If you are looking for a company and training provider that gives you 24/7 support, guidance and the best access to the education world, then they are the employers for you. When I started off with such little knowledge as a teaching assistant, my confidence and knowledge grew so quickly in a short amount of time and this is thanks to them! Take the leap and go for it.
