I work within the classroom supporting the class teacher with delivering lessons and supporting children with their work. I also work as a one to one support for a child with Autism, who struggles with challenging behaviour and requires differentiation and additional support to be able to learn in an inclusive environment. I assist with monitoring the children's progress through marking and assessments and deliver interventions where required.
I have learnt various strategies for supporting those children with additional needs and those who are EAL. My confidence in my ability to know how to best support these children has increased.
I have enjoyed the programme and have learnt skills and gained knowledge that I am able to use in my job, this has enabled me to be able to further assist the teacher I work with and improve the support I am able to give the pupils within my class.
The programme was well structured with clear guidance on the expectations needed to meet each requirement in the various units. My tutor set me tasks to work on and complete thoughout my course, which helped structure our meetings, enabling me to manage my time effectively.
My employer have been supportive in my course offering me time to study and meet with my tutor. The teacher I assist has been a wonderful source of support and advice, offering evidence of my work within the classroom and giving verbal feedback and written declarations to the tutor to support my portfolio.
The training provider has been very supportive, my tutor would always respond to any queries I had and offer advice or further guidance. When I submitted work it was always looked at promptly and feedback given on any improvements that were required. My tutor would meet with me regularly and was always well prepared and offered relevant and helpful support.
The qualification has enabled me to enhance my knowledge and skills, improving my confidence and enabled me to fulfill my job role to a higher standard.
There are usually extra curricular activities at my work place, however the current situation with the pandemic has unfortunately meant these are currently unavailable.
Yes
I would recommend this company to a friend as I have felt it has been a very positive and rewarding experience.
I would recommend this course of training as it has enabled me to progress in my work, as it combines gaining practical skills as you carry out your job role with also the benefit of learning the knowledge and skills required to enhance this.
