I am currently on a secondment from my training role and am now marketing coordinator. Day to day responsibilities are control of social media, campaign management, liaising with creative teams and agencies and supporting centre team by providing key marketing strategies to encourage footfall.
Since working I have learnt a lot. In my original position as L&D I was running and developing sessions to an variety of team members which improved my flexibility when it came to delivering. Also my organisational skills have improved due to managing the workload.
My programme has been great to clarify techniques and approaches I was already inclined to use. It's built my confidence and made me a more logical trainer and worker.
Very well structured. My tutor has made it very clear why I have to complete each section. I think this was more down to him than the course itself but it worked for me.
My employer ask how I'm doing and have been supportive when I have needed character reviews. During appraisals it is mentioned and checked on.
This is where I receive the majority of support.
As I've said, it's built my confidence immensely by using skills I already harness and growing these as part of the qualification. It's also been great to know I can learn whilst doing a full time job.
No but I wouldn't expect this either.
