My role day to day involves supporting the business services team and the organisations. This can include ensuring the facility is safe by conducting floorwalks or providing staff with the necessary equipment to carry out their role.
I have learnt numerous skills while developing on previous ones. some examples include, time management, project management, developed customer services skills and many more.
The programme i was on is very informative an allowed me to learn new skills. The apprenticeship did appear slightly unorganised towards the end as there was a few occasions where new work popped up when I had previously thought I was fully completed.
As mentioned above, new work was introduced towards the end of my apprenticeship when I was under the impression that I was completed or nearing completion. A new system to upload work was also introduced half way through the programme leading to some confusion.
It was made clear that any support I needed from my employer was there and when I did seek it it was always helpful.
The support I was offered by my mentor was great. He was always available when I had any questions or just needed general support.
A lot of the theory based work was useful, but the majority of what I learned was from doing the role.
Yes, at my organisation there are plenty of extra-curricular activities.
Yes
The Association of British Insurers is a great place to work, there is a great work ethic amongst the staff and everyone works with the ABI's values in mind.
Be sure to get well involved with the organisation and reach out to everyone, everyone is so nice and happy to help or just have a chat.
