  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My program was a bit of a fiasco to start with. I spent 6 months with no talent coach, 3 of those months with no book, 2 years down the line and ive only just been told what i am supposed to be doing. My exam i had to rebook 9 times due to COVID and computer issues out of my control.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • If id have been told what to do in the first place this program would have been great. Yes they give you a big talk about what youll learn and the time frames they set out but i knew nothing about completing the Kaplan App, nothing about a KSB tracker or that i had to complete a training log.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • For 2 years nobody new what they were doing. Not only did it cause stress and anxiety, but it caused tentions between myself and my leader which resulted in my work energy dropping as i felt i was not being heard. My leader did not know what they should be doing as nobody would give them a final answer.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • To start with, i had to talent coach for 6 months. After this, i barely ever had meetings and i had no idea what i was supposed to be doing so nothing was getting done. 2 years down the line i got a new talent coach who has finally explained everything. The only thing is they do not seem to listen to me and enjoy talking and answering the questions on my behalf.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It does not. If anything, its made it worse. I am constantly stressing and worrying about this qualification now due to the poor handling of it in the first place. I really hope nobody else has the same experience as me.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are such as sports and social club however not anything i would join.

  • 9a. Would you recommend RSA Insurance Ltd to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • There are a lot of opportunities at RSA if you are willing to work hard. There are times when i find it difficult to think positively in regards to work but i think that is just because there can be many challenging claims and processes. If you ask for help, somebody will always be there.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Insurance Ltd?
  • Be prepared to learn things the hard way. Be prepared for slow and rubbish systems. But work hard, grab every opportunity that comes and push to develop your skills. You have to be able to work as a team but also on your own so have some confidence in your decision making.
