Managing a number of GL accounts, managing month end processes. Primarily IT allocations and intercompany management
Computing skills have increased massively (Excel, SAP, High Radius). Basic and advanced accounting knowledge has improved, coupled well with content learned at college and seeing in practice at engie
I enjoy the programme a lot, I find the content engaging and I feel like after each topic I start to piece together a larger understanding of the whole accounting picture. It doesn't feel like I am just learning for an exam it is building on top of previous topics and using in practice
The programme is structured well, with Covid there was some issues with home learning but the training centre has switched to Zoom call lessons and the teacher is always available through email when any issues come up
Engie provides a lot of support, they allow flexibility on which days I do college work which allows me to balance my Engie work and training when it suits me. Regardless of how much Engie work I have to do they always make sure I have more than enough time to do my training.
Engie allowed me to move days around for when exams are coming up which gives me the days before the exam to revise. They are understanding on when I should focus of training and always try to help me balance
I feel like I am piecing together more of an understanding of the work I do with every topic I learn. It is a good balance between seeing the accounting details in a book and seeing it in practice
due to covid this has been put on hold, but there are many activities which are available at work such as the dinner club
Yes
Very flexible working time which suits anyone's preferences. Friendly staff who are always happy to help
don't be worried about stepping into an unfamiliar role as everyone in the team will support them
