Working as part of a team of 5 HR professionals; looking after over 900 employees including operational and back office at all stages of the employee life cycle. My primary role is to offer support to the HR team and to be the first point of contact for the management community. In my role I also act as the Diversity and inclusion champion and have recently supported in the transition of a Trans college. Liaising closely with the payroll and recruitment team. More recently I have been heavily engaged in furloughing and supporting manages in the redundancy processes. My key responsibilities are: • Manage the new starter onboarding process and leaver process • Complete contracts/ employment changes for all employees • Carry out right to work checks • Maintaining employee data on HR systems (including HR.net/ SAP) • Carry out welfare calls • Administration for meeting and other events
I have been doing the course for 5 months now and have developed more as i am getting more involved. My communication skills with senior members has improved as i am having more regular conversations. Also my basic essay writing skill have got better as i am now back in to the habit of writing long essays.
I am enjoying the masterclasses i am attending however i do not enjoy having to log the hours as i feel this is a waste of time and can take ages to complete. This is time i could spend on doing further research rather than just explaining what i have learnt. I am also enjoying meeting other learners who have a similar job role.
The course is quite organised however my onboarding to the course wasn't smooth and felt quite rushed. The structure is good and we get sent email to schedule in each master class.
My employer has been great in supporting me especially my manager as she will go through anything i need help with and make sure i have the time i need to complete my assignment.
We get a lot of support from our tutor and feel like i can email him anytime i need if i have a question. He provided us with a lot of resources so we can complete our work.
My qualification helps me perform better in my role as i am more aware of what i should be doing in order to progress and develop. i also know more about my industry doing my apprentice.
Due to covid we haven't done any social activities in a while. I join webinars and team building days when i can.

I believe Engie is a good place to work and put the employee first and cares about each employee. The company provides lots of growth and development opportunities. The people i work with are also very friendly and get on with everyone in the office.
I would advise them to check out the companies values and see how well they are suited for the role.
