Looking after the children; keeping track of their learning and development, food prep, nappy changes, planning and doing activities, health and safety of staff and children
Since starting there in 2019, almost every part of the job aside from the food part was new to me.
I really enjoy it
Very organised, my tutor plans everything in an order that makes sense to me
some
As much as she can provide really; if ever I have any issues or questions I know I can ask her anytime and she will be able to help explain things in a way that I can understand
It really helps; the more I understand the parts behind what I do the better I can do my job. So, whilst I do know what I do on the day-to-day parts of my role, by doing this research and completing work for my qualification I get a deeper understanding on why I do the things I do as a nursery nurse and so complete simple tasks with more depth and understanding.
After work staff meetings and training sessions? There's also the Christmas parties
Yes
Ultimately I enjoy what I do and the place does give a very friendly and homey vibe. The teams work really well together and there's overall a good dynamic of being laid back and friendly, and getting on with work.
Confidence is key. Be like you're a whole ✨10/10✨. Knowledge is obviously key in any field but if you have no prior experience or knowledge in childcare then familiarise yourself with the EYFS and Safeguarding at least.
