My role as a apprentice is to work alongside the gas engineers and learn from the jobs we go to. Each day we come into work you don't know what will come up , you could have a quiet day because everything is working as it should, if that's the case we just carry out maintenance jobs such as cleaning the plant rooms and keeping on top of PPM's. But you could turn up to work and be too busy to stop because things do go wrong not often but they are resolved very fast to maintain the district and to keep customers happy.
I learn new skills pretty much everyday if its from using IT documents or installing new pumps or servicing a boiler.
I enjoy the program because of the fact you don't know what job you are coming into. But most importantly the people I work with I think that's the main reason I enjoy my job because if you don't enjoy working with the other staff then you wont enjoy the job.
my program is very enjoyable and well structured.
my employer supports me through everything I do. I couldn't fault them really.
my training provider isn't the best, due to the virus I haven't been able to have nay meetings with my training provider but hopefully this will all be sorted soon
I think my qualification makes me perform because I know how hard it can be if you don't put the work into it. Its really like what you put in is wat you get out of it.
currently not many due to the virus.
Yes
because they support you through everything and believe in you. Most companies struggle I think to get through to their staff but at engie you could have the managing director come in for a chat and a coffee to see how we are and if we are happy. we also have meetings every week with our health and safety ambassador which I think is good.
I would tell others to go for it as they will help you do more than you thought you could.
