  • My role is an apprentice account handler in the Marine Hull team, my day to day activities include creating and sending endorsements [MRCE's] down the electronic broking platform PPL. Other jobs include preparing slips for upcoming renewals and reaching out to the client and underwriters for terms.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since joining the company in September I've learnt so many skills including proper language to use in emails, how to speak with clients, how to use the various systems we use. Everyday I learn something.

  • I enjoy it a lot.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is a very structured, with a clear plan for your 3 years

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support. Contact with my line manager is Daily and he provides a lot of support and guidance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have lessons once a week for a scheduled period of time with guidance from tutors outside of lessons whenever needed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As my qualification is very closely interlinked with my job role it helps with on the job knowledge in turn helping me perform better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I was signed up to a Football team with a lot of the other apprentices and slightly older colleagues which was unfortunately postponed due to covid.

  • Yes

  • Great place of work with opportunities across the whole business catering for many different interests

  • Do a little bit of background research about the company. Be yourself and be confident
