on a day to day basis I may find myself creating reports for clients, doing analysis work on client exposures throughout the year, interacting with clients understanding their needs/wants. There may also be things that need to be done internally as well as tracking documents, creating overview reports and any other projects that may occur throughout they year.
Since starting in September I have grown a lot in confidence and have further developed skills such as communication and teamwork. I have also learnt how to effectively make use of time management and organisation which has become very important since you most of the time there is usually a deadline to work towards. I have also developed technical skills, since starting in my role i have become proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint.
I really enjoy being on the programme. I am lucky enough to be part of a team where there are always a lot of exciting opportunities to work on and be part of. The culture of company and the team is something that I think blends well with me personally. I believe that the programme has exceeded expectations that I had prior to starting.
The programme is structured very well. We have weekly meetings with our tutors who help us work towards passing modules and becoming qualified in a timely manner. There is a great support network where we have regular sessions with people from the training provider to use as an opportunity to catch up or mention or concerns/queries we may have.
I speak with my manager daily who is able to help me with anything work specific. In addition, I also have a buddy assigned to me in my team who can help me with anything like work or even anything apprenticeship specific.
For the first 2 modules of my qualifications, there were weekly sessions with a tutor from The Growth Company. I found those sessions very helpful as they explained the content in a way that was easy to follow. The Growth Company also provided additionally resources such as past papers and mock exams to help me revise for any exams coming up.
The qualification I am studying for is the CII exam and it is very relevant for my industry. The content I am learning are things that happen around me everyday and as a result, I understand more clearly now.
I think due to COVID there may have been a hold on any extra-curricular activities. I personally have not participated in any professional networking events, sports team or any social networking activities.
Yes
It is a great programme to be on when starting out in the industry, the training I have received from both the company and the training provider has been very good as I feel I continue to develop by the day.
I would recommend to look into different roles that Willis Towers Watson offer i.e Broker, Actuary, Consulting etc and see what actually interests you most and what would best suit you and understand what that role entails.
