  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The week is split into having two days at university and three days at work. Work days usually consist of doing projects assigned to me by my manager. I then work collaboratively with them or other team members for further help or guidance if needed. University days consist of lectures and tutorials for the modules taken in the current semester.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Coming from a background with little coding/technology experience, I have been able to effectively develop these skills both at work and university. Work also helps to develop every day softer skills such as effective communication with colleagues and improving time management.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • QMUL has overall been good at running the courses helping towards our qualifications. Specifically the courses for only the apprentices as they are much smaller class sizes and well designed around work, helping us to receive more support from them.
