My role involves general administration tasks such as letting people into the building, answering the reception phone, handling enquiries in the 4 inboxes that I help to manage and more. I also help with HR and Finance tasks, and I have assisted in many different areas in our department which varies weekly so that I am not completing the same tasks all day every day.
I have learnt and developed many skills, such as; Time Management, Communication, Ability to Adapt, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Organisation and many more. I have noticed the positive impact these have had on me in regards to my confidence and professionalism and know that I will be able to use them to my advantage in the future.
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship and have enjoyed all aspects of my project from the start. The work I have carried out at the University was as expected and my team have supported me throughout my time here, which has really helped me. I am excited to see where the future takes me, as my experience at the University has benefitted me and prepared me.
My programme has been very well structured from the beginning throughout and I have always been assisted with organising training plans and weekly schedules. At my time in the office I was given constant support with regular meetings and have been supported even more that I am now working from home. I have always been set work to revise and complete any apprenticeship work.
My team provide me with constant support whenever I need it and have been given help when I was in the office and even still now that I am working from home. I have weekly meetings with my manager to allocate tasks, structure my week and regular updates on my wellbeing. If I ever face any issues, I know that I can turn to anyone in my team for support on the matter.
I receive regular support from my college assessor and training provider and have frequent meetings with my college assessor regarding any work I need to produce and my wellbeing. I know that if I ever encounter any issues with my work, I can contact either one of them and receive effective support from them and any resources.
I feel that the work I complete/have completed for my qualification has helped me perform better as I have been able to look deeply into the organisation and the business fundamentals behind it. I have also been able to identify the legislations/regulations in place and I know that my work has to comply with these. My knowledge on businesses, their structure, my role and more has greatly improved and it has improved my own work.
Whilst in the office our work used to regularly have events for many different things. However, due to COVID-19 we can no longer have physical activities, but instead have weekly coffee breaks that allow us to catch-up. We are also invited to webinars and lectures delivered by our academics.

I feel that the University has a lot to offer and is always able to support you with all of its different areas. The University is also made up of many different departments from all areas, which means that there are many opportunities.
My best advice is to research into the University as much as you can in order to gain a strong knowledge on each area and see how they function. When approaching my apprenticeship, I had to think positively and my family supported me throughout.
