A wide range of stuff such as going to faults, fallen poles, lines needing to be replaced, underground cables and going to sub stations
Currently I only have done online classes, so listening and keeping attention for long stretches of time while looking at a laptop are existing skills that have been improving.
Haven't done any of the fun stuff yet such as being out on the job so couldn't say for sure but I am excited to start.
So far the organisation has been on point nothing has been cancelled or moved around to anyone's inconvenience.
We had several online meeting about the support we will receive from the company. I was amazed from all the different support measures that were in place such as money problems, mental health problems or just anything to be honest. It showed SSE had its employees backs ,made me feel really valued.
Currently if we had any issues or didn't understand something we would shoot an email to our lecturer and they would help us as soon as possible. Really good support.
I feel it would give me a better understanding of my role and safety aspects of my job. This will make me a better employee and more efficient its a win/win.
So far covid has closed mostly all extra activities so I will have to see in the future but I have heard great things.
Yes
The company really cares and supports its employees. SSE has a living wage and pays fair tax all round good Morals. The company is striving higher each year and their potential gets higher each year.
I would highly recommend SSE ,make sure they know what sector they want to go into would be my advice but other than that I would them luck.
