As a Junior Associate my job is surpriseingly varied. I have daily client contact as well as more menial admin based tasks. I work within a small team so although I work for a massive company it's not at all intimidating.
Internally I have learnt loads and have really benefitted from the internal training that PwC offers. Externally unfortuantely I do not feel that my apprenticeship is worthwhile as I have not learnt anything new and feel it is pitched too low for the academic level of my peer group - I would rather not be doing it.
I love my job and have done from day 1. I have been working with a fantastic team and have found the work interesting and varied. I really do not enjoy the apprenticeship aspect of my job but as there is barely any work involved in it at this point it's not too much of an issue.
Extremely valued. PwC make every effort to invest in you, despite being a huge corporate they have the experience of working at a much smaller company. I am given lots of feedback and development points regularly as well as lots of praise so it is easy to improve.
Very well organised and if there is something you dont understand it's clear where to get the information from.
I have met my training provider once, although he is very nice and is supportive the programme is inappropriate to the job and I have been unable thus far to make links between them. The programme is boring and tedious and lots of it feels like GCSE or even KS3 work.
I recieve lots of support from my employer, I have a buddy, mentor, people manager and line manager - all of whom are readily contactable and supportive.
Unfortuantely living in London is very expensive and I am unable to move out from my parents at present, this means that my commute is really long as it would be impossible on an apprentice wage to live centrally near to where the office is. Fortunately you are financially rewarded for performing well in your role and all apprentices are moderated against one another. Unfortunately sometimes we are expected to work overtime at no extra cost which is disappointing but also part of the industry. However, on balance I would not expect to be on much more money as an apprentice.
There are too many clubs, societies, classes and volunteering opportunities to count!
Yes
I never thought I would be able to work somewhere like PwC without a degree.
Do your research before the interview and be clear on the apprenticeship framework you'll be undertaking
