Procurement work, managing suppliers BAU. Driving innovation via technique and technology, managing contracts and running tenders and awarding new contracts including writing the contracts
I started the role over 10 years ago and have learnt on the job so all my skills in relation to procurement and supplier management has come throughout the period. I am now working towards my CIPs diploma. During the period my stakeholder management skills have been strongly developed in addition to the required skills and knowledge required to work in the supply chain role. Ive attended multiple internal training courses.
The programme is very good, the content is very interesting and i have learnt detail of supply chain in areas that i haven't had experience in as my experience is all from the private financial industry. My company are very accommodating in ensuring that i have the time and the facilities to complete the course
The structure hasnt been the best with confusing systems and multiple errors in assignments and communication, due to poor admin. The training sessions however have been very good, well communicated and structured to ensure that knowledge is transferred in a correct manner and good to follow. Mentoring sessions have been good
My employer provides good support in time out and assistance in ensuring that i am able to learn and balance work/life. The company is focussed on the apprenticeship programme and have supported me fully
We have ability to contact tutors and mentors, i have had a couple of issues that i have had to escalate but in the main it has been good. I enjoy the course and the subject.
Despite doing the role for multiple years the course has definitely provided me with increased knowledge on some areas and allowed me to put in structured platforms for some tenders based on the knowledge i have obtained. The additional understanding of public sector and none financial sectors has been extremely informative.
Yes usually the company and my role have events open to me but due to covid this is all on hold. The events the company have and social aspect in normal times is quite limited for me as i am a home worker so i dont have the structure the people office based in my company have.
Yes
Im not sure if i would or i wouldnt recommend them, they are going through a transition period of ownership so now probably wouldnt be the right time to go to RSA but in general they are an okay employer so i wouldnt deter someone from working for RSA
As per the previous comment.
