1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Maintenance, Overhauling and Repairs of Electrical and Instrumentation Equipment on site.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Gained a good overall knowledge of E&I Equipment and bit of mechanical equipment knowledge when assisting the mechs.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I like that everyday has something new that I have not seen before and gaining new skills.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

My assessors are very good at keeping up with me and the staff at Solenis are more than happy to help when I don't understand something.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

Everyday I get the support I need.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I did a year at HETA gaining all my foundation knowledge and my BTEC Level 3, COVID however did hinder my progress but that was unavoidable.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I gained very good knowledge in my first year to be able to help me understand and progress when I arrived on site.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not as of yet due to Covid there has been very limited opportunities but I will be working at our Bradford Site to gain some better knowledge on Instruments and machinery that we do not have at our Grimsby site.

Yes

They are a very good company to work for, they help me whenever I need it, the pay is very good for an Apprentice and I can see the further career opportunities at Solenis.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Solenis?

Read up on what the Company do such as what they produce, when they was founded and all the background knowledge to show your interest. Be yourself and show your enthusiasm
