  • Creating various reports throughout week. Assisting with basic Project Controls tasks. Attending relevant meetings. Curating action trackers. Yearly stretch assignments.

  • Company culture is strong on developing new talent - big focus on bringing new generation in and increasing diversity. My team has been very welcoming and helpful.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Programme has a good structure, with yearly rotational placements. Provided with mentors, skills support coaches, academic mentors and buddies. Business places focus on completing uni work above completing work for job role.

  • Provided with a large support system, frequent progress assessments and ongoing training.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Uni provides mentors, and has check-ins. Professors are accessible and happy to ask questions. Study support team is available for one-on-one sessions to help with assignments.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Qualification will be required to secure an exit role. I have found so far that my experience at work has helped my uni learning more than the other way round. As I progress through my degree, I think the education will become more in depth and be more helpful to me as an employee.

  • Yes

  • Good pay and benefits program, supportive line managers, gain a degree from a respected uni.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Do your research into the area that you are applying to - each business is different. Take notes of names that you are given - the more contacts the better.
