I work on and help maintain overhead power lines and underground cables. This could be maintaining pre-existing parts of the network or adding to the network with new lines or connections. You
Yes I have developed lots of practical skills and learned lots of useful knowledge around tools and how to work on overhead lines and cables. I've also learnt lots of skills related to driving and using different plant as my job puts you through courses to use plant like forklift, MEWP etc.
I enjoy the work even though at times it can be physically demanding and I will have to work in bad weather. Apart from that it's very rewarding and I like that my job is varied from day to day
You are put on courses throughout the year and they keep track of your progress. You have to do an SVQ and your line manager is good at helping you complete that and keep you on track
You are offered lots of support from different services in the company
You receive support and help when needed
It learns you in depth about the job and the requirements need to complete your job safely.
I think so but not entirely sure as I haven't looked for things like that
Yes
It's a very good company who look after their workers and there are many benefits to working for them
Make sure you have a good work ethic and that you can work as part of a team as that is essential
