I am a teaching assistant in Year 2. I normally support children who are in the lower group. I am really happy of my job because I enjoy what I am doing and the support that I have with my colleagues is fabulous.
I have learnt a lot using technology like using school computer systems. My confidence is also improved in terms of teaching the children and talking to colleagues. My knowledge in teaching have been improved.
During Lockdown, they provided me loads of webinars to attend in my preparation for my Functional Skills Tests. It really improved my knowledge. Also, there were webinars for my wellbeing which helped me a lot.
The programme was very well organised. Every month we have a meeting scheduled with my tutor. It is either a Formal Review or a General Meeting. We have a discussion about what would be my next homework. There were lots of advices of how to improve my work.
I am grateful that the school that I am working in right now have enrolled me on this apprenticeship. My Line Manager and the Deputy Head have been very supportive from the very start of the programme.
My dedicated tutor has been very supportive from the very start of my apprenticeship. She always tells me if I need to improve my work and what I have done well. She is always there if you need her support.
I am more confident to perform my role as a Teaching assistant. I could fully support my colleagues and children who I am working with based on what I am learning right now.
Every Monday and Wednesday for 30 minutes, we have a Yoga session who lead by a P.E. Coach at Curwen Primary School where I am working for our Well being.
