I am currently seconded to Be the Business and act Fellowship Coordinator. This involves facilitating board meetings, inductions for new Fellows, communicating with the Fellows and helping the Programme deliver its objectives.
In my time on the scheme, I have learnt many new skills including - change management, risk and opportunity management, cost control, communication, leadership and teamwork.
The programme is great. The early careers team are extremely supportive and the placements are designed to challenge us in a safe environment. The scheme provides opportunities to put the degree content into practice in the workplace.
The scheme is extremely well organised. It is clear who you should go to if there is an issue and there is a fantastic level of support available. The placements are well structured and the rotation timescales are clear.
BAE Systems provide a fantastic level of support. There are several lines of support meeting a wide variety of different needs (eg for carers, people with disabilities, people who need physical or mental health support). There is a clear focus on employee wellbeing which is great.
I feel we receive a great level of support towards our studies. We are given time to study and resources to support our learning. The scheme are incredibly aware of the strain of working and studying and are sympathetic of this.
We learn about different models and tools and techniques for best practise. Of course, in reality, theories are tailored to suit workplace needs.
Yes, the scheme organise quarterly reviews for all the apprentices on the scheme to come together. Sports and social activities are encouraged.
Yes
They are a fantastic employer and the scheme is great. We are well supported and provided an excellent development opportunity to support out future careers. Alongside this, they support our learning through the degree.
Carefully consider what function you want to work in.
