I manage the on-boarding process for all new starters. Creating a file, issuing contracts, collecting right to work documents and providing our payroll with a new starters details. I also look after the company vehicles for the commercials business. This involves ensuring changes are updated, placing any new vehicle orders and arranging collections. I do still have a lot to learn regarding the company vehicles.
I learn new parts of my job on a daily basis. I have recently been tasked with processing any leavers we may have within the business, providing leavers with an exit interview asking for honest feedback from their experience working for Motus Commercials. This feedback enables us to monitor the way others recognize our business, giving us the opportunity to make any necessary changes based on this feedback.
I enjoy seeing and learning about the HR role. Before starting this apprenticeship i never realized how many different aspects of the business related to HR matters. From on boarding to leavers, monitoring surveys and feedback, policies and procedures and employee engagement.
I'm finding my programme very well organised, at the beginning i didn't really know what to expect. My apprenticeship began on the same day i was furloughed due to the pandemic, my assessor put my mind at rest and we have continued to work through my programme despite the current situation. My colleagues offer me no end of support and answer any questions I may have no matter how big or small.
The support from my colleagues is second to none. Our team at head office are always there for me should i need any help or guidance and ensure i understand any tasks set.
My tutor has an amazing attitude towards her students. Alongside working and my apprenticeship I am also working towards a functional skills math exam. Although math has always terrified me and continues to do so, my tutor has offered nothing but encouragement, she has set up math lessons for me each week to try and ease the pressure and gain a little confidence.
I work with the HR team so everyday I learn something new about the HR management role. My apprenticeship helps me to learn and understand the role more in depth and the reason these laws, policies and procedures are in place. I feel since beginning my apprenticeship my knowledge regarding HR practices has increased, though I understand there are many aspects that fall under the HR team so I know I still have alot to learn.
Due to the current pandemic, social events for the past year have been postponed. During this time our HR manager has sourced a yoga instructor who teaches yoga techniques to all employees once a week to help with relaxation and mindfulness, she has more recently set up a charity walking event to get everyone moving and out in the fresh air.

Motus Commercials is a great place to work, no matter the department. I began my employment originally working in service, then moving onto Parts sales rep, Parts driver and Parts administrator before a few years ago joining the head office team. The management and employees are all great people, any support/help or advice is available at every region. Training opportunities are endless and employee engagement is at the heart of the business.
Do it, you wont be disappointed. Our on-boarding process is straightforward and all done electronically which provides a much easier process. Training opportunities are available to everyone within the business no matter their role to gain further experience and widen opportunities. Motus Commercials put their employees first, employees are there most important asset.
