I'm learning to be a machinist. On college block release we learn about lathes, milling machines and CNC machines as well as materials and health and safety
Teamwork, knowledge of subject specific skills like machining and material properties.
It's brilliant. Best decision I've made
It's well organised and has a regimented timetable accessible by us
They support as best they can. If we have an issue and it's raised then they will support us as much as they can
We have access to as much support as possible and tutors are very enthusiastic in wanting to help us progress
The training provider is based with workshops so what i learn in lessons can be applied to the workshop. At the end of the course they'll have taught me nearly everything I'll need to know for my job
If you want to join a social group of certain subjects like LGBTQ+ then that's ok and we have that in place. There's also various sports teams to join like football, rugby and cricket
Yes
It's a brilliant company to work for and eventually the pay will be amazing as well as meeting some of the best people
Have an open-mind, learn about the company as a whole and have the desire to learn the trade
