My role is an apprentice technician, this involves using CAD software's to design models with the required information about the building
Yes, I have learnt how to use many new software's for building design, I have also learnt a lot about construction and how buildings are constructed and the elements they contain
Thoroughly
My programme has been very organised and set out from day one, an induction was given to give me starting guidance. If I am ever unsure what I need to be doing I can ask my mentor/ Line manager
I receive the support I need from my employer, If I ever need any new softwares or hardwares I can request these through the system. If I am ever stuck I feel confident in talking to my manager
I get the support I need from my training officer. I can always email, phone him if I am ever stuck or confused and he will guide me in what I need to be doing . We have reviews every now and then to review my progress
What I am learning at college during my apprenticeship helps me massively. It helps to give sense to the building elements I am modelling and why things are in the places they are.
There are chats you can join which are focused to certain topics, e.g. DIY. There are also a sports and social committee which host events
