  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Managing my own workload of renewal and new business quotes, as well as other adhoc tasks such as managing the contract certainty reporting for the team, declaring terrorism exposure changes for Pool Re, and completing my financial evidence reporting for month-end. Other occasional duties include assisting credit control and claims departments with accounts/claims queries.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I've developed a sound knowledge of the insurance market, outside of the business area I work in. The revision textbooks in particular helped me to develop this knowledge and help me to gain an awareness of other business areas and what types of insurances they provide.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I did very much enjoy the programme because it taught me some valuable skills and allowed me to develop my knowledge in key areas, however there were some parts that I became frustrated by, particular during EPA and the feedback that I was receiving on the knowledge statement and case studies.

    6/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In general I think the structure of the programme is fairly good, but there was times during EPA in particular where I had to clarify certain points with my talent coach because the instructions weren't very clear to start with. I felt as though, at times, you were just given a very limited amount of information but were then expected to complete the task to a high level, without any real guidance.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received an adequate amount of support from my employer. I haven't required much support from them throughout my programme, but they have been helpful/supportive when I have needed them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received an adequate amount of support from my training provider, but felt as though, at times, I wasn't given enough information in order to complete the tasks to the level that I was needing to complete them at.

    7/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The programme has definitely helped me perform better in my role, because it has given me a better understanding of the general insurance market, and also with simple aspects such as different terminology etc.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes we do have occasional activities and events outside of work that allow us to network and socialise with colleagues within other teams and business areas.
