Part of my role is Cash handling, security, invoicing, rotas, dealing with customers on a daily basis. Ensuring colleagues are engaged on a daily basis. Raising money for charity snd also getting the store included in the community and in community involvement.
In my degree I have already learned how to create an assignment with the correct headers and how to structure it too. A newer skill of mine is learning how to use zoom more.
I am thiroughly enjoying the programme although the hard work hasnt started yet but we have been thrown straight in so need to learn quick. There are 22 of us and we are a good bunch of people and seem to get on really well.
The programme couldnt be any more structured than what it already is. Everything is planned out well in advance and we are given plenty of notice of zoom sessions, modules and courses etc
The co-op is 100% behind me and my line manager is completely comitted to helping me see my degree through. If I ever feel ‘snowed under’ I know I can count on him for support. Same from the co-op too.
With me being brand new to the degree I havent had a lot of support from the training provider yet but I havent needed it nor have I asked for it. But I am very confident that they will be there to support me 100% when I need it.
It helps me, so far, to self analyse and know how am I being perceived as a manager and I can reflect on this and act upon it accordingly. Making things better or reigning things in.
There are loads of different sessions being run all the time and mainly done via teams now which is unfortunate but due to the oandemic there isnt another way. There are upskilling sessions and diversity and inclusion ones too. Great for meeting new people and networking.
Yes
They are a fantastic company to work for and their ethics are spot on. The care about their employees and for their safety, well being and everything else such as mental health. The co-op definitely show they care!
BE YOURSELF ALWAYS! Show your personality but also show what you can bring to the role you have applied for. Do your own research and come prepared.
