My role is a team leader. This means that I run a shift when the store manager or team manager is not there. I plan the shift and lead the team in the day to day tasks.
I would say I have the same skillset but I am more aware of the policies and processes.
I am enjoying learning more and being able to apply this to my job and also sharing my new knowledge with my team
There are regular conferences where we all get together and learn and share our knowledge. I have regular sessions with my tutor but no professional discussions and I do not feel prepared. I also do not feel pushed to work harder and I don't get a lot of feedback or information from them either
With my old manager, I had a lot of support and he would always answer any questions or give me time to find things out for myself. With my new manager, she doesn't know the policies herself so I don't get any support from her. The Co-Op itself is very supportive to apprentices though.
I get a lot of support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] during conferences and he always has time to answer my questions or fix any problems I may have. However, he is not my tutor. Hart are very good at supporting us but I do not think we are always matched with good tutors.
Now that I know a lot more of the policies, I feel a lot more confident in my job and the choices I make on my shifts
Not as far as I am aware but my store does a lot of fundraisers in the store such as bake sales and colouring competitions for the children.
Yes
It is a good place to work with amazing staff and a good goal to work towards - being part of community
Make sure you are ready to work hard and continue improving throughout your time at the store. Being part of Co-Op isn't just having a job, it's building a career.
