I attend newcastle university for most of the year, but have a work placement with pwc included for 3 months each year as well (other than first year). While at university it is a standard degree with lectures, seminars exams etc. Then on the placement I am on an audit team communicating with clients and verifying the accuracy of the accounts.
I have learnt a lot of the technical side at university, studying for exams and the content required to do so. I am also working towards my chartered accountant qualification, as well as a degree. While on the placement itself, I get a lot more experience putting my knowledge into practise and developing the skills needed in that regard.
I very much enjoy the programme and love my life at university. The work itself is tough but the team are all easy to get along with and I prefer to be busy than wasted.
I feel like they value me highly, as they always take time to tell me if my work is good and to help me out when needed.
It is very well structured. They keep it simple and efficient, while having a system of controls to ensure everything runs smoothly. I am often given progress meetings, feedback and everything else i could need
I recieve constant support at all stages of the programme
