My job role can consist of a few different things, Bar Service, Taking drinks order's and making guests drinks Host, Welcoming guests and asking them to sanatize their hands, whilst giving them a warm welcome, And also sitting them down and seeing if they want a 1st drink etc Cleaner, I also do the cleaning in the mornings before opening and at weekends to. Food Runner, Running guests food to their tables, including starters, mains, desserts Restaurant/Table service Giving guests the best service, Taking food and drinks order's and making hot beverages for them, whilst giving them a rememorable great experience.
I have learnt about different ways of serving customers in hospitality, including Insitu, Silver service, Buffet, Table de hotĂȘ etc. I have more confidence in my day to day work, This apprenticeship has helped me with my industry knowledge, including how to prepare different dining areas, how to deliver excellent customer service and how to meet and exceed customer expectations. I have also learnt how to promote brand standards to customers and ways to increase market share for my employment i.e through Social media.
I have thoroughly enjoyed completing this apprenticeship qualification, I have just recently completed my last assesment with Lifetime Training, They have given me great communication and help throughout the journey of completion, and my trainers have really given me help along the way if I needed it, I really enjoyed completing modules such as Business module, Customer and Food & Beverage. My favourite assessment was the completing the business project proposal this let me create something that would benefit my employer, and was really great in being able to do a presentation to my EPA and having confidence in the work I completed.
My apprenticeship programme right from the sign up and to the last module was very well organized. On the My Life website were all my modules were, it was all in the right order and it saved my progress so I could continue were I left off. Their website was very easy to operate and had no trouble in finding any information if I needed it. Uploading my work to the portal was a very good way of storing my work once I completed it.
My employer/management team were really supportive whilst I was completing this qualification they were always checking to see how I was getting on, and seemed generally interested in how well I was doing, As I was the only employee completing an apprenticeship at the Hesketh Arms, they had time to really have chats in seeing were I was upto. Receiving my apprenticeship of the year nominee was really appreciated and my manager was made up for me and was probably made up for himself as it will most likely look great for his business.
I have been supported all throughout the apprenticeship during are 4 weekly visits, When we turned to remote learning and no face to face visits, it really didn't effect my learning at all and my trainer's stay in contact throughout, with email and telephone calls to see if I needed any help whilst continuing my apprenticeship in Lockdown, They did a great job and it did cause me any setbacks throughout the 3rd lockdown as I have now completed my apprenticeship.
I honestly think it has given a huge amount of help at work, When I started my employment at the Hesketh Arms in March 2019, it was my first time working in Hospitality and it was rather busy at the time so I really had to learn how to do the job quickly, When I started the apprenticeship I learnt a lot of knowledge that I know now through the training provider and I'm glad that I did, as I can perform at job a lot more confidently with competence.
This is alot of things to things to do outside of work or through work, My employer from time to time host nights out with team using our golden tickets, we also take part in social media campaigns in who can create the best spec of the week, Using our Gin and tonics at work, A few of us at work also take part in Mable webinars it really helps with CPD at work.
