Analysis of various drug compounds in the laboratory using many different techniques such as vibrational spectroscopy, Karl Fischer water content, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, UV, dissolution, hot stage microscopy, Raman spectroscopy.
All techniques discussed above were trained and practiced and embedded since starting at AstraZeneca, superb training.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship, best decision I ever made.
All perfectly well organised and structured, no difficulty in organisation or planning, everything pre organised and planned and apprenticeship structure works perfectly for continual exceptional development.
As much as required.
As much as required, can always contact the University if struggling, progress reviews every few months.
Majority of content is relevant to the job role so does help performance within my role; others are more specific to those working in other departments so not relevant to my particular job but still interesting to learn.
Yes, there are lots of networking events for me particularly related to vibrational spectroscopy networking events all across the UK and Sweden, social activities are organised within the team once a month, overall very sociable.
Yes
The amount of professional and personal development that I have achieved since joining AstraZeneca is extraordinary, the training is outstanding and the level of development is consistent. It is a very sociable company and is very rewarding, any support required is given in any area. Amazing company with amazing people doing incredible work, best decision I ever made, so proud to be a part of the work carried out by AstraZeneca.
Be yourself and apply for a role that you genuinely are very interested in, never think that means you have to stay in that role forever as AZ are very accommodating and are happy for people to apply for different roles within the company at a later date, carefully consider if an apprenticeship would suit you better than university, personally it is the best decision I ever made and I wouldn't change a thing.
