  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Oversight and management of administrational activities on clinical trials, progressing to learn more about different areas of clinical trails and getting further managerial responsibilities of different aspects of the trials.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, we are constantly being given the opportunity to progress our learning and understanding.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the work side of the program. The only part I am not happy with is the uncertainty regarding the apprenticeship rotations into different departments. With this apprenticeship being new for our year these rotation were not ready when we started and are still in discussion 1.5 years in. I do not enjoy the university side of the program.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The individual learning and support in my department is very high and I really enjoy working here. For the rotations of the program, this is still uncertain 1.5 years in which I would prefer to be more organised. The structure of the learning aspect of the apprenticeship is ok but lacks support.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • All the support I could need on the work side of my apprenticeship I get without hesitation.

    10/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Minimal. No responses to email and queries open for months, ongoing issues which are not addressed, not turning up to progress reviews. The university professors are happy to give advise on the learning which is the only support from the university. Very disappointing and I hope my place of works moves to another provider.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Currently my degree does not support my job role in anyway.

    2/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, AZ has so many great opportunities to socialise with colleagues which are always open and being advertised.

  • 9a. Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a great company to work with that stands by their core values and supports their employees.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
  • Look into the company and the core values. Your own experience and opinions about these will prepare you for the application process, interview stage and working in the company. I would also advise to reach out if you ever need help at any stage to the team running the applications, your mentor, apprentice buddy, a manger or anyone in your team. There is such a great work environment that anyone would be happy to help.
