My role involves the GMP approval of materials for supply to lines using a standardised checklist.
I have learnt how to efficiently navigate my way round SAP systems and have developed on my communication skills through cross functional working.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship programme, AstraZeneca offer many opportunities to grow and develop and the university work provided by UO Kent is engaging and sometimes challenging.
The course could be more organised when it comes to summer schools and important events i.e. dates could be sent out earlier. Modules are well structured and split into clear sections that are fairly easy to understand.
I receive a substantial amount of support from my employer (AstraZeneca), help is always there if you ask for it, people are always willing to help out with anything you are struggling with. I also have regular meetings with my manager to discuss where I am up to and what progress I need to make in the future to reach my goals.
Sufficient support is provided by my university point of contact, however, support from teaching members is not always given and emails are not always answered.
The content in the online study guides is relatable to multiple parts of my job role, this can sometimes help my understanding and offer further background knowledge when carrying out more scientific tasks in the workplace.
There are many extra-curricular activities advertised on AstraZeneca's social media site Workplace. The apprenticeship team also give regular updates including any upcoming events and volunteering opportunities.
